SS: What made you go vegan and why?
RM: My best friend and went vegetarian together three years ago and i decided to go vegan after educating myself on how easy it is to live a cruelty free vegan lifestyle. I didn’t want to be part of any sort of animal cruelty at all and i believe its the best life choice i have ever made.
SS: Has it been difficult for you? If yes what was difficult and did it get easier?
RM: No it is very easy, it’s all about educating yourself on what is best for you. My health has improved and i don’t live with the guilt of knowing i have killed an animal to benefit my life.
SS: What are some animal rights related things that you participate in? RM: Elle and i run a cruelty free lifestyle blog and we are constantly updating it recipes, vegan restaurants, cosmetics and fashion. We are always promoting and supporting other vegan/animal activists work either on our blog, Facebook and other social networking tools.
SS: What are your favorite animal rights organizations?
RM: Animals Australia are amazing,i adore their organization! We have become great supporters and friends with the girls from FurFreeLA and we love how inspired they both are about making a positive change.
SS: What would you say to somebody who is considering going vegan?
RM: So much guilt leaves you because you know you aren’t harming any animals for the sake of a lifestyle. Going vegan is easy you just have to remember to educate yourself because you are always learning new things being vegan and living a cruelty free life.
SS: Do you have any memories that stand out in your mind about someone saving an animal? Or relating to an animal in a unique way?
RM:When i was younger my older sister used to take me whale watching every year and also educate me on how beautiful animals are in their natural habitat. I started to look into animals in captivity and i came across stories about an Orca called Lolita who has been in captivity for nearly her whole life. The story honestly changed my life and i am now dedicated to educating people on how wild animals should never be taken out of their natural home just because of greed and to “entertain” humans.
